A capsule machine from MORNING, a Singapore company. It takes Nespresso OriginalLine capsules and compatibles, but unlike a Nespresso it lets you change how each shot is pulled. You can pick one of 10 built-in recipes, load a roaster’s recipe from the app, or set everything yourself in Manual Brew mode.
It’s a bit hard to get in the USA. It’s a small company based in Singapore, so expect to order direct and wait longer for shipping. You won’t find it on store shelves.
- Grinder: none. It’s pods only.
- Temperature: 75–98°C (167–208°F), in 1° steps
- Pressure: up to 21 bar, profiled in 3 stages with 7 levels each, including a pre-infusion “Bloom & Brew” recipe
- Output: set by weight, in 1g steps
- Controls: a dial and a small OLED display on the machine, plus an iOS/Android app over Wi-Fi (2.4GHz only) or Bluetooth. It gets firmware updates.
- Capacity: 850ml water tank, and the used-capsule bin holds 8–10 pods. Cups up to 12.5cm tall fit with the drip tray removed.
- Size: 40.2 × 10.2 × 25.5cm and 4.5kg. It’s narrow but deep.
