I’ve always liked rye bread, so when I started paying attention to which breads work for my blood sugar, switching to rye was easy. This dark rye is the loaf I buy the most now. It has 0g of sugar per slice, which is not always the case with rye breads: a lot of them add molasses or sugar, so it’s worth checking the label.
It’s great toasted with eggs in the morning, and it’s the bread I use for my cinnamon French toast. I like to eat it with some protein and fat, which keeps my blood sugar steadier than toast on its own.
Nutrition is per 32g slice. You can find it at most grocery stores in the bread aisle. For more on choosing a good loaf, see the breads I like using.
